Aptos Congratulates RIS News’ 2016 CIO of the Year Ralph Niebles of The Art of Shaving

Niebles Recognized for Retail Transformation via Cloud Strategy to Unify Commerce, Provide Scalability and Fuel Growth

ATLANTA – June 28, 2016 – Aptos, Inc., a recognized market leader in retail technology solutions, would like to congratulate Ralph Niebles, vice president of Information Technology for The Art of Shaving on being named the 2016 CIO of the Year in the Retail Transformation category by RIS News, a key authoritative channel for retail perspectives. The RIS News CIO of the Year awards honor forward-thinking retail technology leaders who are driving the industry and their organizations to new heights. Niebles was recognized during an awards dinner on June 22 at the 2016 Retail Executive Summit (RES) held at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, Calif.

A true visionary, Niebles believed the power of the cloud could be leveraged to super-charge business growth. He led The Art of Shaving’s efforts to implement a retail technology suite of cloud-based solutions, including Aptos Point of Sale, CRM, Merchandising and Sales Audit in only a six-month timeframe – a move that allowed the retailer to focus on driving growth versus managing IT. Niebles also added the Aptos Enterprise Order Management Suite to support unified commerce, a seamless customer experience across channels and unite in-store and online purchases, including supporting buy online / pick up in-store, while delivering full visibility across the retail enterprise.

Niebles’ leadership has contributed to a 275 percent overall growth for the company as the retailer nearly quadrupled its retail footprint – expanding from 40 to 157 stores. In the past, managing this fast growth would have required the addition of numerous IT personnel. But thanks to its cloud-based strategy, the company was able to support hyper growth without increasing IT headcount. The Art of Shaving also gained exceptional scalability and agility via streamlined updates and newfound efficiencies, and has improved risk management and compliance by 74 percent – a strategic benefit given heightened sensitivities and new requirements for end-to-end transactional security.

“On behalf of everyone at Aptos, we congratulate Ralph on being named a 2016 CIO of the Year award winner,” said Noel Goggin, Aptos CEO and culture leader. “Ralph’s efforts to leverage the cloud to unify commerce, drive growth, and improve agility and scalability is a true testament both to the power of the cloud and to his vision and innovation in engaging customers differently.”

With over 122,000 stores live on its singular commerce platform available in the cloud, more than 500 retail brands across the globe rely on cloud-ready Aptos solutions to generate over $523 billion in annual revenues through singular commerce and seamless experiences.
