Gandhi Bookstores Implements Aptos Point of Sale for In-Store Customer Engagement, Omnichannel Transformation

Leading bookstore chain in Mexico will deploy Aptos Store solution in its stores

ORLANDO, Fla. — May 2 — Aptos, Inc., a recognized market leader in retail technology solutions, today announced Gandhi Bookstores, the leading chain of bookstores in Mexico, has successfully implemented the Aptos Store solution for point of sale at its Polanco store. Aptos Store will be deployed in Gandhi’s 41 stores across the country.

Founded in 1971 by Mauricio Achar, Gandhi Bookstores was created to add more reading opportunities for the country’s growing population. Now, as one of the best-known brands in Latin America, Gandhi Bookstores provides its clients with a variety of products, services and cultural activities to enrich the shopping experience. While books remain the center of its focus, Gandhi also offers its own eReaders and a wide stock of eBooks, and a range of accessories from notebooks to bags, CDs, DVDs, toys and games.

As Gandhi Bookstores looks to extend its brand leadership and enter new markets, it recognized the need for an advanced and modern point-of-sale solution that would enhance in-store experiences, connect omnichannel customer journeys, and support the brand as it opens new locations.

To achieve that vision, Gandhi Bookstores will replace its current point-of-sale system with Aptos’ industry-leading point-of-sale technology with the collaboration of its local partner Netlogistik. With Aptos Store, Gandhi Bookstores associates will be able to offer shoppers a personalized and efficient purchase experience, having at their fingertips all the information required to satisfy today’s shoppers, from product and promotion information to customer loyalty and purchase history.

Aptos Store will also serve as the foundation for Gandhi Bookstores’ omnichannel transformation, providing all the product, inventory, pricing, customer and order information that will allow the retailer to offer shoppers a seamless experience across channels.
