MINISO Readies for Rapid Growth in Latin America with Aptos Retail Technology

Internationally recognized lifestyle and household items retailer to leverage Aptos POS, CRM, Loyalty and Sales Audit solutions as technology foundation for LATAM expansion

NEW YORK — Jan. 14, 2020 — Aptos, Inc., a recognized market leader in retail technology solutions, announced today that MINISO, the Japanese design brand that has revolutionized retail and the purchasing experience, is deploying Aptos’ point of sale, CRM, Loyalty and Sales Audit applications to support its rapid expansion across Latin America. As the retailer plans to double its number of stores in the region by 2023, MINISO required the most advanced and proven technology foundation to strengthen its best practices in customer engagement and retail operations.

MINISO was co-founded by Japanese designer Mr. Miyake Junya and Chinese young entrepreneur Mr. Ye Guofu in Tokyo, Japan, with the former being the creator of the brand concept and designer of their iconic items and the latter serving as CEO. Under their leadership, MINISO has actively explored the international market and has opened more than 3,600 stores in 86 countries, with business turnover reaching US$2.5 billion in 2018.

A significant aspect of MINISO’s global growth strategy is centered on Latin America, where MINISO operates over 250 locations across Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Peru and Chile through a master franchisee model. In Mexico alone, MINISO has approximately 200 locations and plans to add another 200 stores in the next three years.

To ensure MINISO continues offering MINISOLOVERS the best experience in their Latin American stores, the retailer selected the Aptos Store solution for point of sale. As stores are the showcases for MINISO’s relationship with customers and the foundation of its brand, Aptos Store — integrated with Aptos CRM and Loyalty — will empower MINISO associates to deliver personalized, efficient and optimized interactions with shoppers.

MINISO Mexico will also deploy Aptos Audit and Operations Management, a central audit repository that receives all transaction data, ensures the data is consistent and accurate according to MINISO’s robust set of business rules, and then quickly feeds all validated data directly to the retail enterprise for a single version of truth.
