Aptos Recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape on Point of Sale Software for Apparel and Softlines Retailers

“One of Aptos’ key strengths is its overall attention to execution in POS solution capabilities, innovation, go-to-market execution and customer focus,” IDC MarketScape report noted.

ATLANTA, March 6, 2018 — Aptos, Inc., a recognized market leader in retail technology solutions, today announced it has been positioned as a leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Point of Sale Software in Large Enterprise Retail Apparel and Softlines Vendor Assessment (doc #US42709817, DECEMBER 2017).

The report evaluates the landscape of point of sale (POS) vendors servicing large enterprises in the apparel and softlines retail sector, looking in particular at the omni-channel scenarios and capabilities that the vendors are delivering.

The study focused on the 10 most prominent vendors in the market — vendors with established market presence addressing omni-channel commerce with enterprise-grade POS solutions designed for the multistore environment.

Of the 10 assessed vendors, Aptos was one of only two vendors to be named as a “leader.” The report noted that one of Aptos’ key strengths is its “overall attention to execution in POS solution capabilities, innovation, go-to-market execution and customer focus.”

Currently, more than 300 retail brands in over 40 countries rely on Aptos’ point of sale solution, Aptos Store, to deliver seamless store experiences that span channels, locations and devices. Aptos Store enables associates to provide exemplary service by providing easy access to all the information required to satisfy the expectations of today’s omni-channel shopper, from product and promotion information to customer loyalty and purchase history.

Additionally, through Aptos Store’s integration with Aptos Enterprise Order Management, the report went on to say, “Aptos delivers more omni-channel commerce capability, in the form of one view of products, one view of customers, and one view of orders, all of which are updated in real time.”

According to the report’s author, IDC Retail Insights Research Manager Robert Eastman, point of sale technology has become imperative to retailers’ abilities to deliver a thriving store experience.

“With the omni-channel commerce retail environment changing so rapidly, to respond to the rapidly escalating expectations of consumers in this hypercompetitive industry, the point of sale continues to be the central nervous system for the store trying to deliver a differentiating, immersive customer experience,” said Eastman.

According to Aptos CEO and culture leader Noel Goggin, “Aptos’ positioning as a leader in the IDC MarketScape report recognizes our rich heritage in store systems combined with our focus on innovation to evolve the store as the centerpiece of a seamless omni-channel journey.”

Goggin continued, “As the report explains, Aptos distinguishes itself with its focus on engaging customers differently, our singular commerce platform, and development of more than 40 omni-channel POS use cases. We are proud to help global retailers reinvent their customer experiences with our industry-leading technology.”
