ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Dec. 14, 2022 — Aptos, a leader in unified commerce solutions, announced today that it experienced an uptick in orders running through its order management system (OMS) during the holiday shopping period from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday, with the total number of orders increasing 17% in 2022 compared to the same time period in 2021.
In addition to an increase in orders, the system processed a 15% year-over-year boost in total transaction value during the five-day time frame. The increase in order volume and value reflects both expanding adoption of Aptos’ OMS by retailers and a growing number of consumers who shopped online and/or took full advantage of retailers’ omnichannel capabilities between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday.
“While there has been a lot of talk about how e-commerce growth rates have leveled off as shoppers return to stores and their pre-pandemic buying behaviors, Aptos customers are still seeing elevated levels of omnichannel transactions,” said Nikki Baird, VP of Strategy at Aptos. “Looking specifically at the Thanksgiving through Cyber Monday results, in addition to traditional ship from warehouse fulfillment, we saw an increasing number of retailers leverage ship from store to satisfy e-commerce demand.
“Taking a broader view of 2022 thus far, ship from store and buy online, pickup in store continue to gain steam, with approximately 25% of e-commerce orders flowing through our OMS being fulfilled from the store,” she added. “What our data tells us is that consumer demand remains strong, and our retail customers are able to step up to that demand by leveraging inventory across channels.
